The Future of Learning

A Strategic Framework for Webb

A more dynamic education. A more connected community. A distinctly California vision for what comes next.

Welcome to Webb’s Next Chapter

Over the last two years, the Webb community has come together to consider what students will need to thrive, lead, and live with purpose in the decades ahead. The Future of Learning is the result: a strategic framework grounded in Webb’s enduring mission and shaped by the opportunities of a new era.

Our vision centers on three priorities:
  • A more dynamic, student-driven education
  • A stronger, more connected boarding community
  • A deeper commitment to California as a living laboratory for learning.
These priorities build on Webb’s greatest strengths while opening new possibilities for our students, faculty, and community. I invite you to explore the framework and join us as we shape Webb’s future together.

Theresa Smith, Ph.D.

Head of School

Rooted in Webb. Designed for What’s Next.

The world is changing at an extraordinary speed. New technologies are reshaping how we learn, work, create, and connect. At the same time, young people need strong relationships, sound judgment, adaptability, and a clear sense of purpose.

Webb is uniquely positioned to meet this moment.

Our rigorous, student-centered academic program encourages curiosity and initiative. Our boarding community provides daily opportunities to build character, independence, and a sense of belonging. And our Southern California location connects students to one of the world’s most dynamic regions for science, technology, culture, entrepreneurship, and design.

The Future of Learning charts how Webb will bring these strengths together in new and meaningful ways.

Three Priorities for Webb’s Future

A Dynamic Education for a New Era

The goal is not simply to prepare students to respond to change. It is to give them the curiosity, judgment, and confidence to help shape what comes next.

Enhance the Boarding School Experience

Webb will invest in the programs, people, spaces, and experiences that support belonging, wellness, leadership, and joy—ensuring that every student can fully engage in the life of the school and the opportunities beyond campus.

Lead from California

From the Claremont Colleges to Los Angeles and beyond, California will serve as a living laboratory where students explore complex questions, encounter new perspectives, and put their learning into action.
